Trinity Community Church Council Meeting
May 11, 2009

Present: Gretel, Joanne, Randy Carol, Michelle, Ruth, Toni, Gloria, Ed, Ken, Anita Glass, Joyce
Absent: Anita Shoemaker

Joanne opened the meeting with prayer and lead Council in the Leadership Study. She also read the Relational Covenant and Core Values.

Gretel made a motion to accept Ken Gast as Membership Committee Chair to finish the current term. Ed second. Motion passed.

Carol made a motion to accept the April Council Minutes, Randy second. Motion passed.

Financial Reports
Treasurer report : as written.
Financial Secretary report: as written. It was noted that the Sacrificial Giving to date is approx. $4,400.

Committee Reports
Benevolence/Mission no report. The Benevolence Treasurer Report: as written
Ruth reported the Tuesday Dinners are going well and there were about 37 people at the last dinner.
Fellowship: as written. Carol reported the Friends of the Groom evening was a success with about 60 people attending.
Worship and Music: as written. Toni explained “Special Sunday’s” as bring a friend Sunday and said the committee would be having more discussion on the idea.
Trustees: as written. Ed asked for Council to approve a sub-committee of the Trustees that will lead the Capital Improvement Fund. The committee will consist of:
     Clay Gerberick-Treasurer
     Michelle Pennington-Fund Raising
     Clay Wagner-Project Manager
     Jim Spitzer-Project Manager
 Ken made the motion to accept the committee. Randy second. Motion passed.
Ed agreed to a Town Hall style meeting to inform the Congregation of the repairs needed to the building and the need for the Capital Improvement Fund. June 14th will be the date for the meeting.
Stewardship: as written
Pastor Report: as written
Membership: as written. Ken made a motion to accept Linette and Jim Kiefer to the Membership Committee retro-active to January. Gretel second. Motion passed.
Ken moved to accept Stephanie Pittman to the Membership Committee to complete the term that began in January 2009. Michelle second. Motion passed.
Christian Education: as written.

Calendar Review: Joanne led council in compiling a Calendar of Committee Events for the next 7 months. She will give each Committee Chair and the Executive Committee a calendar so we are aware of what each committee is doing and where we can all help that committee succeed.
Joanne asked each Committee Chair that is responsible for a Church Employee to give a Performance Review of the employee.

A question was raised about new members to the Dream Team and if they had to attend the Dream Again Weekend in 2007 to be asked to the Team. Randy will find out.
